I've been working on a style for 2.0 that's more compact and minimalistic than some of the default options. At the moment it's not complete and I'm still tweaking it, but I hope to release it very soon. Below is a screenshot preview. Stay tuned. :)

I love it, can't wait to see the finished version (:

Looks very nice. Would it be possible to add the display of the userhosts when a user joins?
* piroko (piroko!ident@domain.tld) has joined the channel.

Thanks guys :).
bse99: I've been trying to do so, but the implementation on the backend seems a bit buggy; it works sometimes but not others. I'm going to submit it as a bug report. Nonetheless, the functionality is added in my style now. :)

hello...
finished bro? ;)Posted 7 months ago # -
Great to hear, eagerly awaiting the result :)

Eric,
When are you going to release so we can start using?
Posted 7 months ago # -
Alrighty, here's the download link: http://misc.erisar.com/Moxie.lnk2Style.zip
Enjoy, and let me know any feedback or bug reports you have :).

Looks great, but shows the usermask only when leaving, not while joining:
01:23 • atomika () has joined the channel.
01:30 • atomika (atomika@isp.some.domain.com) has left ()
Additionally, I think the space between the left border and the timestamp (also the space between timestamp and text) is quite big. I am using 24h time, might have to do with that. Doesn't look as "bad" in your screenshot with AM/PM as this might need more space... :)

double post :-/

bse99: The usermask not showing on joining is what I mentioned earlier in this topic and filed a bug report about :). There's nothing I can do about that from a styling perspective. If you keep using it, you will notice that the usermask for joins shows sometimes but not others, hence the bug.
I'll see what I can do about making the timestamp spacing more dynamic. :)

I've tried using a JavaScript approach to fix the timestamp issue; in my tests it seems to work, but let me know how it goes for you :). The above link is updated with the new version, please re-download and install.

Hmm, looks like you used an older version of one of my styles as a base for this? (I see a lot of the comments I made in your source.) You are going to find a lot of bugs that I've fixed since then. There's a lot of performance issues, and some of the features are broken.
Posted 7 months ago # -
_banana: Yep, I took a little from a few various styles. I've been chopping left and right and piecing together things :).
EDIT: Package updated again, with some slight JS changes/bug-fixes. :)

That's fine, I just wish you hadn't based it off that earlier revision because there is a lot of random freezing, weird bugs, and some things just don't work. I've been testing yours and the same issues are there. =/
Posted 7 months ago # -
Hmm, such as? I haven't encountered any freezing or bugs as of yet.
Posted 7 months ago # -
There is random freezes, lag, or "beachball" time depending on what you're doing. Sometimes it will lag when switching channels or typing something in; it also takes an extra long time to load the style. If you look in the Web Inspector it will show a lot of javascript errors.

Alrighty. Well if I get ambitious I'll tidy things up more. At the moment I need to take a break from styling and coding before I explode. :P

Looks very nice, I'm using it at the moment. Is there a way to disable the pink that highlights my every line?
Posted 7 months ago # -
cheef: Thanks. But not without editing the CSS of the style :).

Hey Eric :)
Nice style, I love everything about it and see myself using it for a long time, but there is one problem - in private messages, it doesn't scroll with the most recent entry when the text fills up the screen. A strange problem indeed, and I'd be grateful if you'd be able to fix it. :)
Thanks a ton.

A couple more problems I noticed -
The same problem above occurs in the console as well as in pm's. The window doesn't scroll down to follow the most recent entry.
Also, copy/pasting pastes things in reverse. Ex, copying this...
9:06 PM wnvoss: test 1
9:06 PM wnvoss: test 2
9:06 PM wnvoss: test 3
9:06 PM wnvoss: test 4...pastes as this...
9:07 PM wnvoss: 9:06 PM wnvoss: test 4
9:07 PM wnvoss: 9:06 PM wnvoss: test 3
9:07 PM wnvoss: 9:06 PM wnvoss: test 2
9:07 PM wnvoss: 9:06 PM wnvoss: test 1An interesting bug indeed! :P I think by fixing these few problems, I'd use this style for a long, long time. Thanks for your effort in this :)
P.S. Is there any way you could make the channel topic bar ALWAYS minimize itself, instead of being full-size until you scroll your mouse over it?
Posted 7 months ago # -
wnvoss: I'll look into all those issues when I get some free time. They seem relatively straightforward to fix. :)
Posted 7 months ago # -
@Eric: Style looks good. If you want it bundled with Linkinus at any point in the future, let me know by email and I'll include it.

I'm flattered :). But it need a lot of work before it's ready to be included.
Posted 7 months ago # -
Just an FYI to everyone that I've been completely redoing my style from the ground up to fix all the bugs mentioned and the ones not mentioned, as well as making significant adjustments to various things. I have a little bit of work left to do (i.e. getting the highlights & stars window looking sexy), but I expect to release the updated version in a day or two. :)
Stay tuned.
Posted 7 months ago # -
Good news, thanks for the update Eric.
Posted 7 months ago # -
Thanks a ton Eric, can't wait to see it :)
Posted 7 months ago # -
Keep up the great work man, can't wait for the update.
Excellent style, definitely will use once the bugs are ironed out.
btw, I'd add something to distinguish which window is selected when more than one is grouped - shading?Posted 7 months ago #
