    Bugs:
    • Would it be possible to only parse smileys, and show an image, whenever the smiley written has spaces on both sides? My name is David, so whenever someone write to me on IRC, they start out with writing "David: blah blah" and, the "d:" and the end of my name is being parsed into a smiley all the time!

    • Links should be clickable, even though they don't have spaces on both sides. Many channels posts links surrounded by < and > (Like <http://linkinus.com> ), and it is unclickable:

    Requests:
    • The option for putting NickServ messages under the server connection, or just the ability to ignore them when starting Linkinus.

    • Global command for bringing the application to the front, while showing the first chatroom in the list, that has unread messages. The command should of course be costumizeable.

    • Being able to reorganize servers in the list, ie. move them up and down.

I hope you don't mind if I append a couple points of my own to your post; creating a new thread would feel like overkill.

    Is this a bug:
    • Each identity can have a list of preferred nicknames and what I assume are their NickServ passwords. However; if I fill only the password field and do not also place "/identify [password]" into the Automatic Execution field when editing a given connection, NickServ just sits and stares at me. Is this the intended behavior, and I've simply misinterpreted what the password is for, or is it not functioning correctly?

    Requests:
    • I use my secondary computer a fair amount since it's portable and goes with me whenever I leave my home and my desktop. One thing I've tried to puzzle out is a way to share a single set of logs across the two. Is there already a feature that accomplishes this? If not, it would be great if I could simply point Linkinus to my MobileMe account and have it handle everything that way. It would really make switching from one computer to the other much smoother.

    • Does Linkinus support CTCP SOUND requests? It's a silly feature, but most of the channels I spend time in have a library of sounds they'll play from occasionally, and right now the only way I know that a sound has played is because I get a query that tells me so.

If either of those features is already enabled and I simply haven't realized it, or if I'm beating a dead horse here, I apologize.

Smileys: This depends on the style you are using to be honest. In Whisper for example you can click the smileys to make them go away in a particular case.

Links: Same here I am afraid. With Simplified (which is due in a few days) most of that might be a thing of the past, though.

Notices: Just redirect all notices to console and voila.

Identity bug: This depends on whether the network you connect to understands /msg nickserv identify password or needs another way of authentication. Please inquire and set the way accordingly in the network preferences.

I tested what you said and removed the /identify auto-execute and NickServ told me this:

Notice from NickServ: nick, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY password.

As far as I can tell, the network in question does understand /msg nickserv identify password, but it still doesn't take.

In that case the Server Settings for identification are wrong.

I thought I should reply to let everyone know that what Okeanos said about the Ident Service setting was correct. I switched it from null to NickServ and everything works fine now.

Sorry it took me a couple months to get around to replying with thanks.

  7. I'd also like to add that servers are re-organizable in the list. Just aim at the leftmost part of the sidebar when dragging.

  8. As far as the ability to ignore NickServ goes, you can be place it in the Filters List.
