I'm still not quite sure if I like or loathe 2.0, perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to the new.

This style: http://conceitedsoftware.com/forums/topic/new-20-style-discreet has been a HUGE help in making me like it more, however. Devs should definitely give that guy a cookie.

At any rate, there's two things that I can't figure out. There's a real chance it's something obvious, but I can't see anything that addresses them in the prefs.

    1) Whois - It dumps the whois info into the active channel and drops down this little panel with all the info that requires a click on "OK" to clear. Now, I actually like the little drop down panel, but /having/ to click OK to get it out the way is annoying (perhaps have the same info pop to a child window, instead of a panel?). Also, I don't need both it and the channel dump, gimme one or the other.

    2) Message count - This may be an old issue, but I seem to recall, at some point, Linkinus dropping a message count on the dock icon. A green dot with number for queries and a red dot with number for channel. Version 2 doesn't seem to do this, nor can I find anything to that effect.

Any help on either of these issues would be greatly appreciate (and go a good way to me wanting to pay for the upgrade). I'm a HUGE fan on Linkinus, and I'm all for supporting devs who make good software, but getting it to work the way I'm used to (or provide for a viable workaround) is a BIG help.

The whois behavior only does this when you control click from the nick list, or use shift+command+i. If you just type /whois <nick> it only posts the info to channel, no drop down window thing.

  3. Linkinus shows the number of highlights in a green badge and the number of private messages in a red badge in the Dock, since version 1.0 and it's actually the exact same behavior in 2.x.
